Lead Mechanical Technician

I am currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Technician on behalf of my client, a leading designer and manufacturer of multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning and coating systems. Established in 1997, they supply cutting-edge solutions to a global customer base across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Mechanical Technician

Assemble and fit mechanical components, machine frames, and structures.
Perform precision mechanical assembly tasks, including drilling, tapping, and aligning components.
Read and follow mechanical drawings and technical schematics accurately.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Identify and report any build process issues, such as part shortages or inaccurate drawings.
Manage and lead the mechanical team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Work closely with the Operations Director, lead electrical technician, and engineers to ensure designs are correctly implemented.
Communicate any required design changes effectively and on time.
Recruit, train, and supervise team members, fostering continuous development. 

Requirements of the Lead Mechanical Technician

Proven experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and team leadership.
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly tasks, including drilling and tapping.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Good time management, flexibility, and ability to adapt to project needs.
