We have a fantastic Locum Social Work Opportunity based within a Learning Disability Team in the Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester area. The local authority work in a strength-based approach using a model of applied behavioural science, alongside person centred approaches.

Responsibilities:

Conduct needs assessments under the Care Act 2014 to determine support requirements.
Work with service users, their families, and carers to ensure they receive appropriate support.
Assist with accessing housing, employment, education, and community resources.
Respond to emergency situations, such as a breakdown in care or safeguarding concerns.
Work within the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) framework.
Advocate for peoples rights, ensuring their voice is heard in care decisions.
Collaborate with health professionals, psychologists, occupational therapists, housing services, and advocacy groups

To be considered for the Social Worker role:

1-3 years experience of working within a similar social work setting
Diploma/Degree in Social Work
Registration with Social Work England
Experience of working with people who have a learning disability, have care act, mental capacity act and best interests experience alongside risk management and multiagency working
