Quality Engineer - £43,000 + 10% Bonus + 34 Days Holiday + 35 hour working week (Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.00pm) + Career Progression in Growing Business!

The Company

We are working with a market leader who are experiencing significant growth. They have some exciting future growth plans and are looking to add a Quality Engineer to their team.

You will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals to work within the manufacturing industry. The company can provide a realistic career growth path for the right individual.

The Role

Working within the quality function, the Quality Engineer will take technical responsibility for the quality maturation of parts and the ongoing quality performance of the plant. You will be responsible for upholding customer requirements & responding to issues, driving cost saving initiatives and process improvements within the facility and supporting supplier development.

Key Responsibilities

* Product, system & process auditing of quality management system to an IATF16949 standard.

* Supporting all quality aspects of product launch. This will include advanced product quality planning (APQP) & Pre-Production Approval Process.

* Developing & implementing cost saving initiatives

* Supporting the wider quality team with inspection requirements, offering guidance and support with technical drawing requirements and measurement methods.

* Monitoring of supplier performance and escalating issues to wider corporate team.

* Supporting supplier PPAP launch in conjunction with global supplier quality engineering (SQE) team

* Supporting and effectively communicating with assigned customers.

* Ensuring a “data-driven” mentality is upheld to address issues and install preventative actions. Use statistical data to highlight opportunities and ensure actions are implemented.

* Reviewing of quarantined product in a timely manner and dispositioning accordingly

What We Are Looking For

The Quality Engineer will be an ambitious individual with excellent people skills and experience of working within the manufacturing industry.

Ideally you will be/have:

* Ideally educated to a degree level in an engineering field. Alternatively, 5+ year working in the automotive/manufacturing sector in a similar role

* Competence in using quality “core tools” (APQP / PPAP / SPC / MSA / FMEA / Control Plan). Preferably core tools certified.

* Competence in problem solving methodologies, primarily “8D”. Preferably knowledge also of “Shainin problem solving techniques”

* Product knowledge of metals, chemicals, casting, forgings, etc.

* Computer literate with all Microsoft Office packages.

* Effective communication skills (verbal & written), coupled with good numeric skills to be able to present facts for demonstration purposes.
