In this role, you’ll work directly with students facing behavioural challenges, providing essential guidance, encouragement, and support to help them succeed academically and personally. Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Grays
Salary Scale: £80-£105
Contract Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Behavioural Support: Provide individual and group support to students, helping them develop positive behaviour and emotional well-being strategies.
Crisis Management: Act as a key point of contact for behavioural incidents, assisting with de-escalation and supporting students through challenging moments.
Individualised Support Plans: Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create and implement behaviour support plans tailored to individual student needs.
Mentorship and Guidance: Support students in building social skills, resilience, and conflict resolution abilities, promoting a positive school experience.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school counselors, and external professionals to create a holistic support network for each student.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and communicate insights to teachers and parents, ensuring ongoing, responsive support.
Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience working in a similar role or with children who have behavioural needs is advantageous but not essential.
Empathy and Patience: A compassionate approach and patience in managing the unique challenges students face.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff, students, and parents.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, supportive team environment.
