Principal Ecologist (Durham or Kent)
An interesting opportunity to join a growing multi-disciplinary firm with UK-wide projects, offering flexible remote/hybrid working options. This position will suit an experienced Principal looking for a new challenge keen to work on small developments to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPS).
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments
* Manage client relationships, projects, and ecological surveys
* Lead a team
* Ensure high-quality report reviews (PEAs, EIAs, Method Statements)
* Oversee mitigation plans for protected species (e.g., bats, great crested newts)
Requirements:
* Experience with ecological assessments (Habitat Regulations Assessment, ES Chapters, Ecological Impact Assessments and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals)
* UK/EPSM licence as named ecologist (Class 2 Bat and Great Crested Newt licence desirable)
* Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
* CIEEM membership and proficiency in ArcGIS
