Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary Scale: £83 – £100 per day
Start Date: 7th January 2025
Employment Type: Part-Time, 0.6 FTE
GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work at an outstanding Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire. This role will involve supporting students on a 1:1 and small groups, under the direction of the SENCO.

For SEN children who require adaptations to accommodate their requirements, the school ensures access arrangements are in place to support their normal approach of working and, when necessary, deploys teaching assistants.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Support class teachers and other key staff with lesson delivery.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students including those with special educational needs.
Build rapport with young people and create an inclusive environment.
Assist with differentiated learning activities.
Support students with social, emotional, and academic challenges.
Be dedicated to supporting students in reaching their full potential.
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Academic Mentor or in a similar role.
Experience working with SEN students, ideally within a secondary school setting is preferred.
Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
