CNC/Manual Turner/Miller

Salary:

£35,000+

Hours:

Working (Apply online only) Monday-Thurs, (Apply online only) Friday

2 hours a day overtime x 1.5

Overview:

The role of CNC Machinist is to complete all works with no supervision and the ability to set up and operate the CNC machinery, whilst adhering to all shop floor Health & Safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

* To safely set up, program and operate CNC Lathes / Millers and Manual Machines whilst adhering to all safety policies and procedures

* Ensure equipment/ machinery is running smoothly, efficiently and to optimum requirements

* Maintain a clean, neat and organised work area

* Good understanding of mechanical engineering and machining principles

* Compliance with all quality policies and specifications, and instructions

* Use of gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements of finished goods

* Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result

Skills/ Experience:

* Fully trained in operation of CNC / Manual Lathes/ Milling Machines and other

* Ability to read/ interpret engineering drawings.

* Online programming and editing essential (Fanuc, Siemens & XYZ controls)

* Apprentice trained preferred but qualified by experience considered.

* Fork truck licence beneficial

They are a small sub-contract shop who are looking to expand and so there is not always a set order of work etc like you’d find at a bigger CNC shop, the ideal candidate must be flexible and diverse to break down work and working to sample, they don’t always have time to draw components up or create a sequence of operations
