Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to be engaged on a contract basis. Candidates will ideally be based in one of the following locations; Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, York. Hybrid working will be supported.

Being able to support and lead on estimates from feasibility through to detailed design. Producing high-level order of magnitude costs and be capable of producing first principal estimates at the later stages
Production of activity schedules and bills of quantities
An advanced understanding of the typical methods of measurements used in the UK and the ability to complete a full take-off independently. This includes proficiency in an estimating software.
A comprehensive knowledge of indirect costs and other fees to complete an estimate.
Strong stakeholder engagement including being able to work with engineers, clients and authority to complete an estimate.
Being client facing and the focal point.
Being able to review all outputs of junior estimators and provide guidance to them on projects.
Independently write a basis-of-estimate report to be reviewed by a director within the team prior to submission.
Being able to benchmark outputs against other market data to provide further evidence to the client.
