Dunbar Education is now recruiting for a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant in Kemptson!

Job Description:

As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the positive behaviour management strategies within the school. This temporary-to-permanent position offers candidates the flexibility to explore the role and find the right fit for their skills and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to pupils to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour management plans.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with behavioural challenges.
Collaborate with parents and external agencies as needed.
Implement and manage behaviour support plans for pupils with specific behavioural needs.
Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide targeted support and intervention.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver effective behaviour management strategies.
Observe and assess pupil behaviour, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect.
Support pupils in developing social skills and managing emotions.
Maintain clear and accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is preferable.
Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or psychology (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent).
Proven experience working with pupils with challenging behaviours in a school setting.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Patience, resilience, and a commitment to supporting the emotional and educational development of pupils.
Experience with specific behaviour support programs or interventions is an advantage.
Additional training or certifications related to behaviour management are desirable.
