Teacher of Science – Coventry – Easter

** Pay rate: £150-£260

A vacancy for a full-time Teacher of Science has arisen within one of our ‘Good’ Ofsted-rated and all-inclusive Secondary Schools in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and outstanding practitioner to join this vibrant School on a temp-to-perm basis starting after Easter (April 2025). The ability to teach Physics to KS5 level would be an advantage.

This modern and student-focused School welcomes applications from qualified and dedicated Teachers who can inspire and develop students through their teaching and knowledge of the curriculum, hold a creative approach to their lesson delivery and are confident in strategies to enable all students to make or exceed their levels of progress.

Key Responsibilities:

* Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils’ well-being following statutory provisions

* Plan and deliver a broad, balanced and relevant Science curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of all students in line with the National Curriculum

* Set high standards that inspire and motivate learners, ensuring they reach their potential

* Assess, record, and report on student progress while maintaining accurate records

* Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment following the school’s behaviour policy

* Committed to developing your own pedagogy , responding to advice and feedback from colleagues

* Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals about pupils’ achievements and well-being

Must have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Right to work in the UK

* Satisfactory references covering the last 2 years

* Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child/Child & Adult Workforce) on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)

* Experience teaching within an educational setting or similar

* Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum

* Excellent Science subject knowledge

* Read the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2024) document

* Excellent classroom management

* Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills
