Vehicle Damage Assessor / Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor
Location: Hatfield
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 + Yearly Bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week, 1 in 3 Saturdays
Alecto Recruitment is currently working with an established Body Shop in the Hatfield area, looking for a passionate individual to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) or a Technician seeking to transition into a VDA role.
Responsibilities:
Accurately assess damaged vehicles to identify necessary repairs and parts replacement
Create detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard software
Communicate with insurers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
Coordinate with technicians and other workshop staff to ensure timely and high-quality repairs
Manage multiple vehicle assessments simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Ensure all repair work meets manufacturer and insurance standards
For trainees: Assist in assessments under the supervision of experienced VDAs while receiving comprehensive training
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor or a background as a Vehicle Technician looking to transition
Familiarity with automotive repair processes, either from body shop work or mechanical roles
Experience using estimating software such as Audatex or similar (for VDAs)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain repair needs and processes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Valid UK driving license
Passion for the Motor Trade and a desire to learn and grow within the industry
