We are currently working with a primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester, who are seeking a One-to-One Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil displaying challenging behaviour. The school feels that the pupil would benefit from a male teaching assistant with a keen interest in sport - as this is one of the pupil's main passions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with additional needs, focusing on behavioural and emotional support.

Develop a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil, helping them feel supported and motivated to engage with learning.

Encourage the pupil's interest in sport, using this as a tool to support learning and manage behaviour.

Work alongside the class teacher and other staff to implement tailored strategies for behaviour management and learning support.

Support the pupil's academic progress while promoting social and emotional development.

Ideal Candidate:

A male teaching assistant with a passion for sport and an ability to use this interest to engage the pupil.

Experience working with children who display challenging behaviour, ideally within a primary school setting.

A patient, flexible, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.

Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with teaching staff and the pupil's family.

An understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to apply them in an educational setting.
