Senior Development Engineer - Laser Specialist

What You Will Do:

Lead development projects focused on the integration and application of laser technology in manufacturing processes.
Serve as the subject matter expert for the use of lasers within the lead acid battery manufacturing industry.
Design and develop a wide range of standard and special purpose machinery/tooling, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and CE standards.
Conduct design reviews and development meetings, reporting progress to the Product Development Manager and Technical Director.
Create technical reports and documentation for development projects, alongside engineering component and GA drawings for manufacture and assembly.
Coach and support Mechanical Engineers in design techniques, departmental processes, and engineering best practices.
What You Will Bring:

A degree in Engineering or a relevant apprenticeship, backed by 5+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
Expertise in the application, integration, or design and development of laser technology.
A strong background in the design of special purpose machinery, preferably within the lead acid battery industry.
Proven experience in leading product development projects and a thorough understanding of the full product development cycle.
Proficient CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), with hands-on experience in build and test processes.
