Job Title: School Support Worker
Location: Buckingham
Salary: £90 – £120 per day
Contract: Full-time

About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join our team in a nurturing school environment. You will play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs
Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet individual student requirements
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging student participation and independence
Implement EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets and strategies, working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff
Support students with personal care, where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
Help manage classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
Encourage communication and social interaction, supporting students in developing essential life skills
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for each student
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff

About You:

Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or care setting (desirable but not essential)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of students
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential
A willingness to undertake further training and development
