Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic Fresh Produce Procurement Manager to join a successful and well-respected Fresh produce Importer, grower, packer and distributer based in Kent. We expect the ideal candidate will have a few years of experience in a more junior procurement role within the fresh produce industry and is now looking to take the next step in their career. This role requires strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of the fresh produce supply chain, and proficiency in both English and Spanish.

Company Overview:

Our client has built a significant business with UK Retail, Foodservice and Wholesale.

They are well known for a full product portfolio sourced and grown in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres, for their varietal excellence and supply continuity. These include Citrus, Berries, Exotics, Fruit, Salads and Vegetables.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in the fresh produce industry.

* Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of high-quality fresh produce.

* Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, prices, and new products to make informed purchasing decisions.

* Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure quality standards.

* Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels to ensure a consistent supply of products while minimizing waste.

* Quality Control: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all products meet company standards.

* Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.

* Data Analysis: Utilize Prophet and Excel to analyse procurement data and generate reports for senior management.

* Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to visit suppliers and attend industry events.

Qualifications:

* Experience: A few years of experience in a junior procurement role within the fresh produce industry.

* Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish and English.

* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Prophet and strong Excel skills.

* Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the fresh produce supply chain and market dynamics.

* Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

* Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms.

* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.

* Travel: Willingness to travel as needed for the role.
