Overview of role: As well as providing 1:1 support, the Team Leader will manage Sarah’s small home care team. Team Leader duties include rota management to ensure consistent cover, collating timesheets for payroll, arranging appointments, supporting and motivating the team, ensuring the care plan is followed, and updated when needed. During the night, Sarah is monitored for seizures, the role is classed as an on-call night but varies each night; some nights you may be able to sleep all night, other nights, Sarah will have a seizure, and these can last for several hours. Sarah rarely wakes before 1.00pm, so you can catch up on your sleep. Due to the severity of her condition, Sarah is confined to her bed for much of her time. Lots more information will be provided about this role to shortlisted candidates.
Who this job would suit: Someone who is empathetic, emotionally robust, and positive. Sarah has days when she is in pain and understandably, can have a short fuse. Someone who doesn’t take things personally and is understanding and able to step back and give Sarah space. Excellent organisation skills and be respectful of Sarah’s Christian faith and her DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) choice. Comfortable with clinical procedures such as administering injections (full training can be provided if required). Due to Sarah’s needs, the Team Leader must be a native English speaker or fluent in English.
