Y1 Teaching Assistant 

About the Role:

Vision for Education is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the YO22 area of Whitby. This part-time role, working 3 days a week, offers a fantastic opportunity to support young learners during a crucial stage in their education. There is also potential for this position to become full-time and longer-term, depending on the needs of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to Year 1 pupils.
Support children’s learning and development through a range of engaging activities.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need extra help.
Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of pupil progress.
Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a supportive school community.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
A passion for supporting young learners and helping them reach their full potential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Working Hours:
This is a part-time role, working 3 days a week 08:30am until 3:30pm. There is potential for the role to become full-time and extended longer-term, depending on the school's needs.
