1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Erdington (B23)

Location: Erdington, Birmingham (B23)
Pay: £380-£440 take home per week (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: April 2025

Are you passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing and looking to step into a pastoral career? We're looking for a caring and consistent Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Erdington, supporting a pupil 1:1 with attachment needs.

This is a unique role with a clear pathway into pastoral support as the placement progresses. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills, a calm and nurturing approach, and a genuine interest in helping pupils feel safe and secure at school.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with attachment-related needs
Build trust through consistent routines and positive reinforcement
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning and emotional development
Model and encourage emotional regulation strategies
Support wider pastoral duties as part of your development into a pastoral support roleCandidate Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with social, emotional, or mental health needs
A calm, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and team-working skills
Commitment to full-time work and building long-term relationships
Experience with trauma-informed or attachment-aware approaches is highly desirableWhy Apply?
