Job Description
As a Fabricator, you’ll play a pivotal role in producing and maintaining welding jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions used across various projects. Working closely with the engineering and maintenance teams, the Fabricator will ensure tools are built to precise specifications, maintained effectively, and repaired swiftly to reduce production downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manufacturing new welding jigs and fabricating components to precise engineering specifications.
* Refurbishing and repairing jigs, fixtures, and tooling as required.
* Conducting routine maintenance and problem-solving to ensure continuous production.
* Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings to create high-quality components.
* Participating in workplace improvement initiatives and maintaining a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S methodology.
* Upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental standards by promoting a safety-first work culture.
You’ll contribute directly to production efficiency and quality assurance, playing an integral role in the success of major projects.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Proven experience in metal fabrication, jig manufacturing, or a similar role.
* Strong skills in welding, cutting, and using fabrication tools and machinery.
* The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with precision.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and the 5S methodology.
* A strong understanding of Health and Safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
* An NVQ Level 3 qualification in fabrication, welding, or a related field (desirable).
