An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join our Leicester based client in their Finance Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who is confident tackling operational challenges to join a household brand with a brilliant reputation. The successful Management Accountant will be qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with a knack for problem solving and systems. Salary on offer is up to £57,000 + bonus and enhanced benefits package.
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting the accuracy of financial operations. You will assist the Finance Operations Manager in upholding financial controls, producing comprehensive management reports, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
A significant aspect of this role involves supporting the transition from the bespoke financial reporting system to a new Oracle-based platform. Experience in project management, transformation, or change management within financial systems is highly advantageous, as you will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and efficient integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring precision and completeness.
Support the production of financial statements and assist with year-end accounting.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting, delivering insightful analysis to drive financial performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting accuracy and streamline processes.
Assist the Finance Operations Manager with ad-hoc projects, including system upgrades, financial analysis, and Oracle system migration.
Deliver accurate and timely financial insights to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.What We're Looking For:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent certification.
Robust knowledge of financial reporting standards.
Prior experience in financial accounting or operations within a large, complex organisation.
Proven experience in project management, particularly in system transformation or change initiatives.
Strong analytical abilities with a capacity to interpret and present complex financial data.
Proficiency in advanced Excel and familiarity with financial systems.
Exceptional attention to detail, a proactive problem-solver, and an ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with colleagues across various departments.
