QUALITY INSPECTOR
Job Title: Inspector
Location: Milnrow, Rochdale
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: Four-day workweek, Monday to Thursday (38 hours)

The Role:
As an Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and precision of parts used in the assembly of our machines. Your main responsibility will be to inspect externally sourced and in-house machined components, ensuring they meet strict specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect parts upon delivery, verifying conformity to detailed engineering drawings.
Address any deviations or non-conformance issues with suppliers.
Support the inspection of bespoke in-house machined parts and in-progress machine builds.
Use specialist testing equipment and follow standardized testing procedures.
Collaborate with manufacturing and customer service teams to prioritize parts for release.
Foster strong working relationships with key suppliers to maintain high-quality standards.
Update the MRP system with inspection results and progress tracking.
Validate and generate first article inspection (FAI) reports.
Conduct compliance audits, including potential supplier visits (nationally and internationally).
Coordinate the calibration of inspection equipment and maintain accurate records.
About You:
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and experience:
Proven experience in an engineering environment, inspecting precision-engineered components of varying tolerances and complexities.
Proficient in using a variety of inspection tools, including micrometers, ring gauges, dial gauges, vernier calipers, and digital height gauges.
Strong technical communication skills with the ability to discuss complex mechanical engineering matters.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design viewing software.
Willingness to travel internationally if required.
