SEN Teaching Assistant (PDA Specialism) – Croydon

Location: Croydon

Start Date: Easter 2024

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (No Flexibility)

Salary:  £89-£99, based on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience working with children with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Croydon, supporting children in Year 1 and Year 2 with PDA. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

The Role:

Provide tailored support to children with PDA in a classroom setting.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning strategies.

Foster a calm, structured, and supportive environment to help children manage their anxieties.

Use creative and flexible approaches to engage and motivate pupils.

Assist with social, emotional, and behavioural development.

About You:

✔ Experience working with children with PDA, autism, or other SEN needs (Essential)
✔ A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to learning support.
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
✔ A passion for making a positive impact in children’s lives
