Job Title: Family Safeguarding Consultant Social Worker
Location: West (Apsley) & East (Stevenage), Hertfordshire County Council
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Salary Range: £53,655 to £58,570
Hertfordshire County Council is seeking experienced and motivated Family Safeguarding Consultant Social Workers to join our teams in West (Apsley) and East (Stevenage).
As a Consultant Social Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work services to vulnerable children and families. You will work with a small, complex caseload, support staff, and provide management cover in the Team Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert social work interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families.
Lead on assessments, develop care plans, and implement tailored interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to offer holistic family support.
Conduct court work and support colleagues with court proceedings.
Support the development of junior staff through supervision and guidance.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified and Social Work England registered.
At least 1 year of post-qualification experience in social work.
Experience of staff supervision and management.
Strong knowledge of care proceedings and court work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft IT packages.
Full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle.
