Registered Manager (Children's service)
£45000 - £55000 dependant on experience
EBD experience ideally, but if has experience with learning disabilities in childrens home settings this will be considered.
Will have 3 – 4 children aged between 8 and 16 years old.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to lead our Ofsted registered service for young people of both sexes aged 10 to 16 years with emotional or behavioural difficulties and mental health issues. As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective operation, management, and development of the service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, support, and guidance to our children/young people
. Leadership and Management
▪ Provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction to the staff team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
▪ Oversee the daily operations of the residential service, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
▪ Recruit, train, and manage a skilled and motivated team, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
▪ Conduct regular staff supervision, performance reviews, and support professional development initiatives.
▪ Promote a person-centered approach, ensuring the delivery of holistic and individualized care to young people.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
▪ Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, statutory requirements, and other relevant legislation.
▪ Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and protocols that reflect best practices and promote high-quality care.
▪ Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections, addressing any recommendations or requirements for improvement.
Qualification and Requirements
▪ A relevant degree or qualification in social work, social care, or a related field is desirable. A management qualification is desirable.
▪ NVQ Level 5 in management or willingness to work towards this is required.
▪ Has at least five years’ experience working within social/personal care, of which, ideally, two years will have been spent within the Children's Residential Sector, and two years at least at the level equivalent to Support Services Supervisor or above.
▪ Substantial experience in a managerial role within a residential care setting for young people, preferably with experience in Ofsted registered services.
▪ In-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework, including Ofsted standards, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
▪ Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of staff.
▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with young people, staff, and external stakeholders.
▪ A thorough understanding of person-centered care and experience in developing and implementing care plans.
▪ Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle complex situations effectively.
▪ Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
▪ Flexibility in working hours, as the role may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
▪ Valid driver's license (preferred).
▪ Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
▪ However, the role does at times require flexibility outside of these hours to meet the demands of work and the needs of the young people.
