We have a fantastic opportunity at HMP Five Wells to join the Novus education team as our IAG (Information, Advice, and Guidance) Trainer on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours a week.

Job description

We are recruiting for a IAG (Information, Advice, and Guidance) Trainer to join our education team at HMP Five Wells.

You will work with, and be supported by, our amazing team of dedicated professionals to deliver high-quality certificate level lessons exploring career paths, educational options, and personal development with groups of up to 15 learners. You will need patience, passion and understanding in your approach which will in turn help them to secure future employment opportunities post-release.

Our security team are on hand to ensure the lessons run smoothly. We always try to cater to a learner's individual needs and ensure we create a positive learner experience. Time will be given to planning and your Local Education Manager is always on hand to provide support as and when needed. Delivery happens between Monday and Friday and weekends and evenings are strictly for rest and relaxation.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

Have at least 2 years' experience in the relevant vocational area
Willing to gain PTLLS within 6 months.
Commitment to gain a subject specific qualification to allow you to train to Level 3, within 2 years.
Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies, within one year.
Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE) or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year.
Gain, hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.About Novus

About HMP Five Wells Prison

HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough costing £253m in 2022 accommodating 1,680 residents. We are committed to celebrating diversity and promoting equality throughout our services and inside the Five Wells communities.
