Role Overview:

Academics is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a SEN primary school in Chester on a temporary, supply basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with sensory needs, helping them to access learning and participate fully in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

Support students with sensory needs in the classroom, providing assistance with sensory activities and tailored interventions.
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual student needs.
Help students manage their sensory challenges, using strategies to enhance focus, participation, and engagement.
Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated.
Assist with daily routines, ensuring that students' sensory equipment or tools are used effectively.
Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff.Requirements for a Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with children with sensory needs, either in a school setting or similar.
A patient, understanding approach to supporting children with SEN.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students with sensory challenges.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.Desirable:

Experience or knowledge of sensory integration techniques and strategies.
Relevant qualifications in SEN, Childcare, or Education.What We Offer:
