Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Key Stage 1 Phonics Interventions

Location: Chesterfield
Contract: Fixed Term (January 2025 - July 2025) 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday for Friday

About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our committed team on a full-time basis from January 2025. This role will be dedicated to providing Phonics interventions for Key Stage 1 pupils, specifically Year 1 and Year 2 students who are tracking below expected progress. This fixed-term maternity cover position will run until July 2025.

Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored Phonics interventions to Key Stage 1 pupils, focusing on those who need additional support in meeting curriculum milestones.
Work closely with teachers to support students' learning in Phonics, especially using the Read Write Inc program.
Track and monitor the progress of pupils in intervention groups, adapting strategies as needed to maximise student outcomes.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils in your care.Candidate Requirements:

Experience working in Key Stage 1 is essential, with a solid understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and Phonics.
Knowledge of Read Write Inc Phonics would be highly advantageous.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a small, dedicated team of education professionals.
