Outreach Tutor – SEN/SEMH (Redbridge)
Are you a dedicated and passionate individual with experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges? GSL Education is seeking a compassionate Outreach Tutor in Newham to provide tailored educational support to students outside of traditional classroom settings.
Role Overview:
As an Outreach Tutor specialising in SEN/SEMH, you will work with students who may find mainstream education challenging due to their additional needs. This role involves delivering one-on-one or small-group tuition in various settings, helping students overcome educational barriers and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised educational support to students with SEN/SEMH in a range of settings, such as their homes or community spaces.
Develop tailored learning strategies to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
Work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to monitor student progress and adapt tutoring approaches as needed.
Support students in managing behavioural and emotional difficulties, fostering a positive learning environment.
Help students build confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside their academic development.

Requirements:
Previous experience working with students with SEN/SEMH or in a support/care role.
A strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with SEN/SEMH, and the ability to tailor learning strategies to meet their needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
A commitment to safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must pass all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
