Are you a newly qualified GP passionate about delivering high-quality patient care? We are excited to recruit General Practitioners on behalf of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across East Sussex. This is a unique opportunity for motivated and compassionate GPs to integrate into diverse PCN teams and make a tangible difference in the communities they serve.
This fixed-term role is ideal for newly qualified GPs looking to gain experience and develop their skills within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment. Working within established PCNs, you’ll collaborate with Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Practitioners, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribing Link Workers, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, and Mental Health Practitioners, all focused on enhancing patient care in local practices.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care: Provide high-quality care as an autonomous GP in primary care settings, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients.
PCN Integration: Rotate through different practices within the PCN, spending time in each to fully integrate with each team and understand varied operational dynamics.
Administrative Duties: Manage patient records and handle necessary paperwork through the EMIS clinical system, ensuring timely communication with other healthcare providers.
Patient & Colleague Support: Offer expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues, upholding clinical excellence and safety.
Disease Management: Contribute to chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) according to evidence-based practices and assist in developing patient-centered care plans.
Enhanced Access Service: Participate in the PCN’s Enhanced Access Service on a scheduled rotational basis, allowing for expanded service availability.
Requirements
Experience:
Experience in a primary care environment
Commitment to continued professional development
Newly qualified GP within the last 2 years
Understanding of primary care contracts and medicines management
Familiarity with Integrated Care Board (ICB) initiatives (preferred)
Qualifications:
MRCGP and General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
Full GMC registration
National Performers List registration (England)
Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
Evidence of current validation and last appraisal
Eligibility to practice independently in the UK
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check: This position requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
