Facilities Assistant – Primary School (Maidstone) | Temporary Role

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
Salary: £13 - £17 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

A welcoming primary school in Maidstone is seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the school’s premises, maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assisting with general maintenance and repairs around the school

* Ensuring classrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas are kept clean and safe

* Carrying out routine health & safety checks and reporting any issues

* Supporting with setting up and taking down equipment for school events

* Managing deliveries and stock of cleaning/maintenance supplies

* Liaising with contractors and external providers when required

* Ensuring security of the school premises, including opening and closing the building

Requirements:

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)

* Previous experience in a facilities, site management, or caretaker role (desirable)

* Basic knowledge of maintenance, cleaning, and health & safety procedures

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* A proactive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
