Head of Finance (Part-Time) – Charity, Remote (Must be based near Newcastle upon Tyne)
£40,000 per year (25 hours a week)

We’re looking for a Head of Finance to join our team and play a vital role in steering our organisation’s financial strategy. This is a fully WFH role with visits to the Head office in Newcastle upon Tyne, offering you the flexibility to work part-time (25 hours per week to suit you and the organisation) while making a significant impact.
What You’ll Do:
* Financial Control & Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and statutory annual financial statements. You’ll oversee the full budgetary process, working closely with budget holders to review performance and address any issues as they arise.
* Strategic Finance Leadership: As part of the senior management team, you’ll help shape the charity’s financial direction to support our long-term goals. Reporting to subsidiary boards, you’ll ensure that financial planning aligns with our overall strategy and the Group business plan.
* Team Management: Lead, support, and develop the finance team, ensuring effective delegation of tasks, monitoring workload, and encouraging a positive work environment.
* Business Partnering: Partner with departments across the charity to provide financial guidance, maintain robust IT systems, and ensure efficient procurement and delivery of goods and services.
* Treasury & Compliance: Oversee the charity’s treasury management policy, liaising with commercial lenders, and ensuring compliance with VAT, GDPR, and data protection regulations.
* Operational Oversight: Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, coordinate insurance arrangements, and oversee the nominal ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately processed.

About You:
* Strong background in finance, ideally with experience in housing associations or housing authorities.
* Proven experience in strategic financial management, with the ability to manage complex budgets and reporting.
* Skilled at managing a team and building relationships across departments.
* A full qualification in Accountancy
