The Opportunity:

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to embark on a rewarding career in the high voltage power industry.

As an Athena PTS Trainee Electrical Engineer, you will be engaged on a bespoke training and development plan that has been tailored to reflect your level of entry, qualifications held and relevant experience. It is most likely that you will enrol on either our Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Apprenticeship programme, which we would expect you to complete over a period of up to 4 years.

Whatever your entry level, you will be working alongside and learning from experienced professionals, benefitting from structured on-the-job training and gaining valuable hands-on work experience whilst also attaining further academic qualifications.

As a NERS-accredited high voltage electrical engineering contractor & power systems consultancy working nationwide on large-scale projects in the renewable energy, utilities, nuclear & defence sectors, Athena PTS can offer a real diversity of opportunities across a wide range of specialist areas.

Academic Entry Requirements (Advanced):

* Five GCSEs at grades A*-C / 9-4, including English Language and Mathematics at grades A*-B / 9-6.

Academic Entry Requirements (Higher):

* Five GCSEs at grades A*-C / 9-4, including English Language and Mathematics AND

* 96 UCAS points at A-Level / T-Level, to include STEM subjects (e.g. Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Science) OR

* Alternative STEM qualifications that are equivalent to Level 3 / 96 UCAS points OR

* *A Degree in a STEM subject.

About You:

Whilst academic qualifications are important, equally so are such attributes as maturity, ambition, passion and commitment. Ultimately, we are looking for an individual who has an ability and desire to flourish in a trainee role, to work safely and with purpose, and who can represent Athena PTS in a professional manner.

Holding (or having ability to gain) UK national security vetting clearance to ‘Security Check’ (SC) level would be advantageous but is not necessary.

In recognition of the calibre of individual that we are looking to recruit, the successful candidate will be rewarded with:

* A starting salary of up to circa £24,000 pa (depending upon level of entry, qualifications and experience).
