About the Role
A unique opportunity has arisen for a skilled and compassionate Family Therapist to join a renowned healthcare facility in Bristol. This role focuses on delivering systemic family therapy within the Eating Disorder inpatient service and general psychiatry outpatient services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting patients and their families, promoting recovery and resilience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
About the Facility
Set in a serene 18th-century country residence surrounded by parkland, this facility offers 77 beds across seven specialised wards, including services for:
Eating Disorders
Acute Mental Health
Psychiatric Intensive Care
Acquired Brain Injury
Huntington’s and Dementia
Conveniently located near major transport links, the hospital also provides an expanding outpatient therapy service, ensuring comprehensive care options for its service users.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist systemic assessments and interventions for patients and families.
Facilitate psycho-educational groups and parent support sessions.
Deliver systemic consultations across the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Participate in care planning, risk assessment, and management.
Lead reflective groups to promote systemic thinking among staff.
Contribute to ward rounds, MDT assessments, and care planning meetings.
Offer outpatient therapy as part of the Day Care Therapy Service.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
MSc in Family Therapies.
Experience with individual and family/group work in mental health settings.
Desirable Experience and Training:
Previous experience in Eating Disorder services.
Formal training in the supervision of psychotherapeutic modalities.
Advanced training in evidence-based psychological therapies.
Leadership training.
