Shropshire, Craven Arms plus travel (Hybrid Working)

£85,151 per annum plus 10% Car Allowance

Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week with flexibility)

This role has been identified as suitable for Hybrid Working, which will be a combination of home working, working from our office at Craven Arms and travel as your role requires.

We are now looking to appoint a Head of Repairs and Maintenance to deliver efficient and effective repairs and maintenance service to customers.

You will be responsible for leading six management colleagues who manage circa 200 colleagues and several specialist sub-contractors delivering repairs and maintenance works, improvement and capital works, grounds maintenance works to tenanted and empty properties, and facilities management works to Connexus Offices.

The role will require the successful candidate to:

Lead and inspire a team delivering repairs and maintenance works, improvement and capital works, and grounds maintenance works to tenanted and empty properties and facilities management works to Connexus offices.

Manage and deliver within the team’s annual budget (circa £16m for 2024/25) ensuring that resources are allocated effectively for the delivery of services in a manner which demonstrates value for money.

Ensure that the in-house repairs and maintenance service provides quality, value for money, and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Ensure that Connexus is compliant with all regulatory and statutory standards that apply in the delivery of a customer focused repairs and maintenance service.

Ensure that the repairs and maintenance team is compliant with all Health and Safety areas as set out in statutory legislation and embed a positive and zero harm health and safety culture.

As a member of Connexus Senior Management Team (SMT) provide strong visible and collective leadership across Connexus delivering our strategic vision and PRIDE values.

Provide assurance reports to Executive Management Team, Committees and to the Board.

To be successful in this role you must have:

*

Relevant senior management experience in managing a repairs and maintenance service using a multi-disciplined team, including trades colleagues and specialist contractors within the Social Housing sector or similar.

Substantial experience in managing repairs and maintenance, improvement works, ground maintenance services, and capital works in a senior role.

*

Commercially aware with an understanding of how to maximise opportunities for growth and investment.

Demonstrable strategic leadership skills, being innovative and results-driven, leading others to innovate and change.

*

Exceptional leadership skills to motivate, guide and inspire a team.

*

Understanding of the current issues and future challenges facing the social housing sector and their impact on the repairs and maintenance service.

*

A thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.

*

Have a full driving license as the role will involve travel.

*

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline; or can demonstrate considerable experience.
