Software Manager – Manufacturing – Bristol – IM3379
Salary: c£50-70k, depend on experience, plus benefits

Job Outline:
We are now seeking a Software Manager, to join a manufacturer of scientific instrumentation in Bristol.
This role will suit a visionary leader who can inspire their team to expand their skills, collaborate with colleagues to develop cutting-edge, world-class products, and provide exceptional support to valued customers.
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will develop and drive the software strategy, recommending new tools and techniques to continue improving product quality and the development process.
You will also identify opportunities to improve systems and procedures that will keep software engineering at the forefront of technology.
You will have line management responsibility for a team of software engineers, including PDR reviews in accordance with company policies and providing guidance and technical support.
When required, you will carry out customer site visits as the most senior software representative.
This is a great opportunity for a Software Manager to work closely with key Engineering and Management Leaders to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
Experience:
With a background in Software Engineering for precision engineering / manufacturing, you will be familiar with C++, C, assembler, and PLC programming.
You should have significant practical experience in PC-based C++ development in a real-time control environment. PLC and/or C (embedded real time). C# (Windows Forms or WPF). Borland environment would be an advantage.
As an experienced Manager / Leader you will have strong experience in leadership in an organisation running Agile Development and DevOps.
Qualifications:
As the successful Software Manager, you should hold a Degree in Computing / Physics or a relevant discipline.
