Deputy Manager - Children's Supported Living

Location: Farnborough, Surrey

Salary: £34,000 - 37,000 per annum

We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is looking for their next challenge in Children's services. You will support the registered owner in the opening, registration and ongoing management of a new supported living service in Surrey.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of care packages, ensuring high quality standards of care and service are delivered to regulatory, contractual and company standards. Working in partnership with the Director you will drive quality, business development and financial growth in both existing and new markets. You will also lead, mentor, and manage employees and resources to ensure excellent standards of care are delivered to clients, exceeding regulatory standards.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your existing care knowledge and experience, whilst also developing into a senior management role, hopefully taking on the role of Registered Manager in the near future. Role responsibilities:

* Responsible for the smooth, efficient, and profitable day-to-day management of the service in the area.

* Assist the registered owner in Identifying new business and marketing opportunities in the private market to improve the growth, development and performance of the service.

* Keep up to date with developments in the care sector, identifying new opportunities and sharing best practice across services.

* To maximize profitable growth across the service by achieving challenging and realistic KPI’s and targets.

* Be accountable and manage a caseload of service users and office staff.

* Start new care services’ efficiently ensuring service standards are met or exceeded.

* Plan and attend regular meetings with partner organisations, staff and the people we support, ensuring actions are completed in a timely manner to ensure individuals’ needs are met.

* To ensure the delivery of care and support services that promote independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live as independently as possible.

* To ensure care and support services are structured in a way that provides flexibility, reliability and continuity.

* To ensure the service is appropriately resourced with suitably qualified, skilled, vetted and experienced staff.

* To ensure that staff are trained for their roles and responsibilities and that all groups of staff within the team have access to appropriate training and learning opportunities.

* Support with the development of robust systems and procedures.

* To ensure that all documentation and records are maintained to a high standard and within the correct time limits.

* To deliver services effectively and efficiently and have clear monitoring procedures and processes in place to ensure standards are continually met.

* Contribute to ensuing all legislative requirements are met in line with OFSTED standards and regulations.

* To ensure excellent communication and links with all stakeholders regarding the provision of services including commissioners, service users, relatives, social work teams etc.

* To manage and resolve all customer complaints and concerns to identify and prevent early potential loss or delivery of poor customer care. Investigate any complaints or concerns in a timely manner.

* Ensure all Safeguarding issues are reported, investigated, recorded, and managed in line with local authority and Anchor Community policy and procedures.

Role requirements:

* At least two years’ experience in a Team Leader or Deputy Manager role within Children’s services.

* A care management qualification or the willingness to undertake the identified Skills for Care qualification within six months of appointment.

* Able to take responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day management of the service and staff.

* Strong leadership skills.

* A self-motivated individual who is organised, flexible and caring.

* Thrives in a fast-paced role, resilient and able to manage competing demands.

* An active team player but also able to work under own initiative.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Committed to achieving high standards for the service and it’s clients.

* Committed to training and development.

Appointment to this role will also be subject to thorough pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
