Job Scope

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for the build and test of software to support the company’s products and services.

Job Functions

* Responsible for building and testing software to support the company’s products and services.

* Responsible for producing and maintaining software build and software test specifications.

* Technical liaison within and outside the client with customers, and collaborators on software related matters.

* Helping to improve the testability of software.

* Undertakes additional project tasks as required by management.

* Any other tasks associated with this role.

Requirements

* Technical background.

* Good communication skills.

* Good PC skills together with MS Office.

* Good understanding of Software Engineering Lifecycle, in particular test and integration.

* Knowledge of scripting/programming languages to help automate builds and testing.

* Willingness to occasionally travel to visit and sail with ships in the UK and abroad.

Experience Required

* 1 year’s practical experience of testing software for PCs running Windows.

* Experience of writing test: plans, specifications, and reports.

* Experience of building software & software installers desirable.

* Experience in similar position within a Technical/Engineering organisation preferred.

Qualifications

* Good Engineering Degree with Software Content or equivalent (lower qualification considered if backed up by relevant experience)
