Role Objective:

The role of Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects under their direct management are delivered safely in a cost-effective manner, within budget, on time to specification and in a manner that exceeds Langfields and the customer requirements.

The role provides essential support to the rest of the Projects team as well as the Quality and Manufacturing Teams. Reporting to the Business Stream Lead, this key role requires strong organisational, planning, and communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask. A high level of Computer Literacy is expected in use of a range of software applications, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential- particularly Excel.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for:

* Delivery of projects safely on schedule, to specification and within budget.

* Ensuring that the company exposure to risk is minimised

* Ensuring that the clients requirements are understood, agreed and clearly communicated to all involved on the project.

* Ensuring that Langfields and Client’s quality requirements are clearly understood, communicated and achieved.

* Quality management, customer care, service performance, HSE implementation and staff development for all those under their control.

* The generation, execution and revision of project plans and schedules.

* The identification of sufficient and competent resource to deliver the project and the assignation of individual roles and responsibilities within the project team.

* Establishing close Internal working relationships with other managers, engineering, production & QC staff, to enable him to fulfil his role in achieving the project objectives.

* Establish a close External working relationship with Clients, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers and Third Party Verification Bodies to enable him to achieve the project objectives.

* Providing direction, supervision and support to project staff ensuring their optimum operational efficiency and to encourage the company continuous improvement philosophy.

* Managing the project budget by ensuring the project is run in a cost effective and controlled manner.

* Managing the day to day operational aspects of the project work scope

* For the implementation and collective development of the QHSE management system procedures.

* Providing for continual improvement analysis, performance feedback information to the QA dept in the areas of External, Internal and Supplier Performance

* Ensure work productivity is carried out in a cost-conscious manner

* Identifying scopes of work that are additional to the initial quotation and working with the estimating team to generate, submit and agree on a contract variation notice (CVN) prior to performing the additional work.

* Providing the commercial team with accurate forecasts each month on project costings to allow for cost to completes (CtoC) to be finalised prior to month end reporting.

* Understanding the invoicing milestones within a project and then providing the commercial team with the relevant invoicing information to allow for prompt issuing of invoices to the client.

* Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Langfields and is within the remit of this post.

Minimum Competency / Qualifications / Experience on Recruitment

* Project management experience

* Demonstratable experience of managing multiple projects at the same time with values ranging from £100k - £4m

* Good communication and social skills

* Accomplished IT skill set

* Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual

* Genuine interest for a career working in a world leading engineering company working on high-tech, high complexity products and processes
