You will be a key player as we create West of England Sustainable Transport. We are delivering on the big transport improvements people in the region need and deserve, changing how people travel, making journeys affordable, reliable, enjoyable, and safe.
As a senior member of the Commercial team you will be responsible for developing and implementing commercial and supply chain management strategies to deliver projects worth over £1billion from Government funding. You will be joining the Commercial team at an exciting time. During the next couple of years, the team will be procuring a number of significant infrastructure programmes across rail, road and transport operations in order to deliver its key strategic outcomes. As a key member of the team, you will lead on driving commercial expertise across the Infrastructure directorate.

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking to appoint two Contract Managers to join the Commercial Team. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor by:
Setting and maintaining the standards for Contract Management across all major strategic contracts within the Mayoral Combined Authority.
Supporting the organisation to manage their contracts well, with appropriate consistency within and between contracts, through guidance, training and sharing of best practice applications.
Providing governance and leadership whilst demonstrating the Mayoral Combined Authority values to Technical Specialists on Transport and Infrastructure
Preparing papers for Corporate Leadership Meetings/ Committees with regard to all things Contract Management where required.Are you someone who has excellent working knowledge of procurement regulations, in-depth experience of Contract Management functions and experience of interacting with senior stakeholders on high-risk complex programmes?

Profile
In-depth experience of Contract Management functions and interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders on large scale and high-risk complex programmes
In-depth experience of working in a complex stakeholder environment and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships even when faced with conflicts or challenging environments
Experience managing a team and working in a matrix managed environment, providing clear direction, coaching / mentoring and feedback.
Experience of establishing and managing policies
Experience of drawing together, leading and motivating cross-organisational project teams to achieve shared success.
Working collaboratively to identify and deliver complex programmes in a multi stakeholder political environment.
Experience of embedding organisational change through focused project
Experience of development and delivery of a core organisation wide Contract Management Strategy
Reviewing and influencing internal policies and procedures to operate as flexibly as possible within a heavily regulated and high risk function.Job Offer
Salary £50,788 - £53,994
26/31 days annual Leave (5 extra days after 5 years continuous or reckonable service)
