Key Responsibilities of a PRU Teacher:
Delivering High-Quality Teaching: As a PRU Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
Developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs): You will create and implement personalized education plans for each student, focusing on their unique learning requirements and goals.
Fostering a Positive Classroom Environment: A PRU Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
Collaborating with Support Staff and External Agencies: You will work closely with teaching assistants, school counsellors, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to your students, ensuring their academic and emotional needs are met.
Monitoring and Assessing Student Progress: Regular assessment and feedback are crucial in a PRU setting. As a PRU Teacher, you will track each student's progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Promoting Positive Behaviour: A PRU Teacher actively promotes positive behaviour and implements behaviour management strategies to help students develop self-regulation and interpersonal skills.
Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensuring the safety and welfare of students is a paramount responsibility for a PRU Teacher. You will adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures to protect the well-being of the students.Top of FormBottom of Form
A PRU Teacher will have the following:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
