A London-based university with a rich history providing education to students across one of the most diverse student bodies in the UK.
Your new role
You'll play a key part delivering, maintaining and developing the University's central IT infrastructure, ranging from servers, desktops, network applications such as identity management, email, data storage and backup, network and telecommunication services and general infrastructure security. You'll be managing a team of 12 technical engineers across Infrastructure Engineering, Network Engineering and AV Technology.
If successful, you'll be working on the workstreams below:

Migration to Oracle databases
Implementing new cloud-based web content management systems
Evaluating and replacing existing VMWare platform.
Implementation of Core/Distribution/Edge network hardware and associated software
Replacement of AV technologies and implementation of modern interactive display screen-based solutionEssential requirements:

Experience delivering infrastructure services within a Higher Education environment
Knowledge of enterprise technologies used in the Data Centre, end user and AV environments
Application of ITIL Technical Requirements:

Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Azure AD management
Skills working with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS or Azure)
Data networking, including design and implementation (e.g. Cisco IOS management, Aruba ClearPass, Efficient IP SolidServer)
Firewall configuration and management (e.g. Fortinet Fortigate, FortiEMS/ZTNA)
Wifi configuration and management (e.g. Aruba Wireless, ClearPass, Radius)
M365 management (Office/OneDrive/Teams/Sharepoint integration etc)
PC Desktop and laptop management (e.g. Symantec Altiris, Microsoft Intune and Autopilot)
Provision of email services, and email routing technologies (e.g. M365 Exchange Online/Hybrid Exchange)
Mail protection (e.g. Barracuda, M365 Exchange Online Protection)
Server (and desktop) virtualisation and containerisation (e.g. VMWare, AppStream, Kubernetes)
Enterprise Operating system management and protection (Microsoft Enterprise Server, Linux (various), Windows 10/11)
IT Business Continuity systems and techniques
Security and Threat management in an enterprise environment (e.g. Trend Deep Security and OfficeScan)
Enterprise Data Storage and backup (e.g. NetApp, Rubrik cloud backup, Barracuda M365 backup)
Monitoring and notification (e.g. Solarwinds, Jakarta Interceptor)
Integration tools with other systems, such as Building Management Systems, environmental monitoring, IDM (e.g. PowerShell and/or Linux scripting)
Management of Voice services in a mixed (VOIP/Analogue) enterprise environment (e.g. Mitel IP telephony, Mitel Unified Communications, SoftPhone, SIP, Mitel Call Centres)What you'll get in return
£500 per day inside IR35
3-month contract initially
