Job Title: Head of Procurement (Packaging)

Compensation Package: £85k - £88k base + 15% bonus + £7k car allowance
Role Objective:
Lead a high-impact procurement function focused on developing and implementing sourcing strategies, fostering strong supplier relationships, and contributing to the company’s strategic goals in sustainability, innovation, cost management, supply continuity, and cash flow optimization. This role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on management of the packaging category, with significant influence over regional procurement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Category Leadership: Oversee procurement processes and tools, ensuring alignment with both regional and global standards for category management, supply chain resilience, and cost efficiency.
* Strategic Roadmaps: Drive a 3-year productivity roadmap for cost savings, a sustainability roadmap in partnership with R&D, and an innovation roadmap to enhance product value for consumers.
* Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers to support business goals, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
* Financial Impact: Lead budget processes for the packaging category, including cost model assumptions, cash flow improvements, and overall savings targets.
* Issue Resolution: Manage performance of the supply base, and handle escalations involving significant service or quality issues.
* Governance and Reporting: Establish governance frameworks for the category, aligned with global standards, and report on packaging activity within the company’s reporting structures.
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team to meet and exceed procurement goals across multiple strategic priorities.
Desired Profile:
* Qualifications:
* Essential: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a strong background in Procurement and category management at a regional or global level in a complex, international environment.
* Desirable: Master’s degree or similar advanced qualification. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
* Experience and Skills:
* Proven success managing a category in a matrix organization.
* Strong leadership and influencing abilities, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
* Strategic and operational acumen, with a hands-on approach.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Availability for three days on-site in London, with potential travel to suppliers and production sites as needed
