We are working on behalf of an M&E contractor in Washington and the surrounding areas. Who pride themselves on commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Role Overview:
As an Account and admin Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring smooth financial operations. You will assist with invoicing, processing payments, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices.
* Purchase Ledger – including delivery notes, invoices, payments.
* Sales Ledger – sales applications and invoicing.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, and collections.
* Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting databases.
* Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing procedures.
* Processing payroll for staff.
* Dealing with petty cash and Barclaycard.
* Respond to queries from clients and suppliers regarding invoices and payments.
* Assist in general administrative tasks as needed including COSHH
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is preferred.
* Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
* Good numerical and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
