Dedicate Recruitment is working in partnership with this adult education college, one of the oldest in London, boasting 10,000 part and full time students on roll. We are seeking a competent Financial Controller to lead the finance team.
Reporting to the Vice Principal - Finance & Resources, the Financial Controller will be fully responsible for the day to day management of the finance function.
Overseeing a small team of two staff, the Financial Controller will ensure that the finance department provides a high quality business partnering service to the college.
You will oversee all transactional processes, including payroll and pension schemes for 80 staff, month end close down processes, producing budget reports and management accounts, presenting reports to the executive Committee. Preparing the college's year-end statements and liaising with the external auditors.
The Financial Controller will work closely with Directors and Course Managers to support them on finance policies and procedures, nurturing good working relationships.
The successful candidate will hold a full accountancy qualification in CIMA/ACCA or ACA demonstrating a credible track record and knowledge of technical accounting. You will be experienced in the lead and operation of payrolls and pension processes with the natural ability to form good working engagement. High level use of MS Applications including Excel is essential. Experience of Sage Intact and MHR iTrent is also desirable.
In return you will be joining a friendly, supportive team. The initial period of this role will be on site, full time, however, flexible working will be considered.
