Flux Consulting have partnered with a thriving and dynamic building consultancy based in Norwich. We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to bring expertise and energy to a growing team, delivering value-driven solutions for their clients.
Key Responsibilities of this role will include:
* Conduct cost planning and budget management, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
* Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies.
* Manage contract administration and financial reporting, advising clients on cost-effective approaches.
* Carry out risk and value management and cost control.
* Evaluate and manage project variations and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
* Provide client-facing updates, presenting progress reports and financial forecasts.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project scope and costs.
The ideal applicant will possess;
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quantity surveying or cost management role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
* Proven track record in delivering cost management services across a variety of project types and sectors.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC contracts.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with keen attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
