GSL Education is seeking dedicated individuals who are eager to gain experience working with children and in schools. We are on the lookout for passionate individuals who aspire to build a career in education. We offer full-time, part-time, and flexible working options to fit around your schedule. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in schools across Goole and it's surrounding areas and with children of different ages and abilities.

No qualifications? No problem! We will provide a free Level 2 Teaching Assistant course for individuals with the right experience. All you need is the passion and drive to make a difference in children's lives. You will mostly work alongside the class teacher to support students, sometimes on a one-to-one basis, and help cater to a range of needs, including learning difficulties.

We especially encourage individuals with prior experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals to apply!

Your Responsibilities as a Trainee Teaching Assistant:

Support students in their educational journey
Assist in managing and guiding behavior in line with school policies
Work with teachers to implement academic or social interventions
Help deliver creative and engaging lessons
Use formative and summative assessments
Support phonics education following the school’s chosen program
Promote independence with life skills
Provide outstanding safeguarding and pastoral care

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or vulnerable adults
Proactive, energetic, kind, and caring individuals
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo the process)
A fully checkable work history
A driving license or willingness to use public transport within Hull
Good mental and physical health, resilience, and reliability
Ability to work with vulnerable and challenging students in a school environment
This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must pass all necessary background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
