About the company
The company I am representing are a rail based specialist based in the north of England. They are a privately owned, family run business. They act as a subcontractor for tier ones as well as acting as a main contractor on certain projects. The whole group turn over £100M and the civils division turns over £5M. They have seen a lot of growth in the past few years and have recently acquired a communications business and a plant business. Types of work include maintenance work, p-way, walkways, bridges, rail plant, track operations, and they specialise in track installation and rail based systems. Some of their clients include GWR and GTR as well as maritime and Alstom. Project values range from £25,000 up to £12M.
About the role
Due to this incline in work they are now looking for a senior engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will need to co-ordinate the site engineering control activities to satisfy contract programme requirements and delegating as well as getting involved on site and setting out. The project you will be on will be a rail depot project, working mainly on the structures but there will be a small amount of track work involved also. This opportunity has superb potential to help the correct professional to improve as an engineer and enhance their long-term career.
The successful candidate will be in charge of looking after a team of site engineers, ranging from 4-7 and it is important to note this opportunity has great potential to help people progress into a sub agent then in the future a project manager. This opportunity will be site based and a PAYE position.

Requirements
You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, Business of equivalent qualification.
It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as an engineerand to show good long term stability at the companies you have worked for, ideally 3 years per company that you’ve worked for.
You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit
