We're looking for a Field Service Engineer – Regional Team Lead to take charge of a regional field service team, delivering exceptional maintenance and leadership across utility-scale solar PV systems.
About the Role:
As a Regional Team Lead, you’ll manage a dedicated team of Field Service Engineers and General Operatives in your region. You’ll split your time between leadership responsibilities and hands-on engineering, ensuring the safe, compliant, and high-quality maintenance of ground-mounted solar PV systems.
This is a pivotal role that blends technical excellence with people management. You’ll oversee everything from performance reviews and health & safety compliance to supporting corrective maintenance on-site.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, coach and manage your regional field service team
*
Ensure all PPM and corrective maintenance is completed on schedule and to a high standard
*
Conduct performance reviews, manage absences, rotas, and holiday approvals
*
Oversee health & safety compliance and create region-specific risk assessments and method statements
*
Take an active role in site maintenance, testing, and fault finding
*
Coordinate third-party contractors and ensure compliance with H&S regulations
*
Report on team activities and escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications (Essential):
*
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Qualification
*
C&G 2399-13 & 2399-14 – Solar PV Installation & Maintenance
*
C&G 2391-52 – Test & Inspect
*
SSSTS, SMSTS, or IOSH Managing Safely
Experience (Essential):
*
3+ years' experience in utility-scale Solar PV O&M
*
Strong knowledge of network diagnostics, remote comms, LV/HV systems
*
Excellent computer skills including CMMS, MS Office, and reporting tools
*
Working knowledge of CCTV systems and electrical testing
*
Health & safety site management experience
Desirable Extras:

C&G 17/18th Edition Wiring Regs
*
Experience managing field teams, performance tracking, rotas
*
G59/G99 & central/string inverter knowledge
*
Understanding of earthing systems and protection relays
