Streamline Recruitment are currently assisting a reputable haulage company with a strong focus on container collections and deliveries, in their search for a Senior Transport Planner. This role is integral to the efficient operation of their transport services, ensuring that all logistical aspects run smoothly.

About the Role:

As a Senior Transport Planner, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating the company’s transport operations, focusing on the collection and delivery of containers. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle the complexities of transport logistics while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The position offers flexibility in working hours but will involve being on call every third week to manage any out-of-hours issues.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute efficient transport plans, ensuring timely and cost-effective container collections and deliveries.

* Optimize routes to minimize costs and improve delivery times, taking into account factors such as traffic, road conditions, and legal driving hours.

* Allocate and manage drivers effectively, ensuring compliance with working time directives and other relevant regulations.

* Communicate with clients to confirm delivery schedules, manage expectations, and resolve any logistical issues promptly.

* Ensure that all transport activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including vehicle maintenance and driver hours.

* Provide on-call support every third week to manage and resolve any issues that arise outside of regular working hours.

* Quickly address and resolve any issues or delays that may impact delivery schedules, maintaining communication with all stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

* Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK road networks, container logistics, and relevant transport regulations. ( Must have Container Planning experience ).

* Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call every third week.

Monday - Friday ( 40 hrs ) also flexible depending on operational requirements.

£32-40k salary
