EMEA Accountant

We have partnered with a market leading brand in the retail space, who are looking for financial accountant to join their team on a hybrid basis. Based from their Northamptonshire office, they are looking for someone to cover accounting duties for their EMEA region.
Key Duties:
Maintain the EMEA ledgers in line with accounting requirements.
Improvement and maintenance of month end processes and internal controls to meet the demands of their progressive and growing business.
Completion of month end tasks in line with month end timetable and detailed month end checklists.
Ensure that the ledgers are correct and that all entities can meet the respective group period end deadlines.
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, in line with internal deadlines including identification and resolution of any issues.
Assistance with the half year, interim and year end audit process with preparation of information for external auditors.
Assistance with the local statutory accounts under local GAAP across Continental Europe.
Promote a culture of best practice across EMEA by ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and sharing improved ways of working.
Identify and flag any issues promptly to the Senior Financial Accountant EMEA including any risks or opportunities identified for the group.The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified by experience or a Minimum of “part qualified” (final level remaining) of a relevant financial qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
At minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance / accounts role and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
Good understanding of business structure and the importance of accuracy of nominal ledger postings
A minimum of Intermediate excel skills
Strong investigatory, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Microsoft Dynamics (D365), retail, multi-currency, multi-site, foreign language skills & experience of working with European subsidiaries highly desirable.
Work to deadlines within a small internal team Proactive approach to work and a desire to streamline processes to increase productivity across the team.
Strong communicator - able to liaise with colleagues in continental Europe to ensure that we are complying with the local laws and regulations
